Quality Inn Half Moon Bay/Miramar Beach

The toilet flushes with a force like a tsunami, which I’ve never seen before, and the heater needs maintenance because it makes terrible noises. Rooms were clean and the staff were friendly. For the price, the breakfast selection could be better. If you have a tree nut allergy, bring your own utensils: they only have wooden ones. The receptionist said they’re no longer allowed to have plastic spoons. California is so contradictory with its plastic cups, wooden utensils, paper plates, and everything else. It’s a wonder the state functions at all.

The rooms were solid and we had a great stay, but the TV was very outdated. A “No Signal” box kept appearing over shows and movies on every channel, which was really irritating, though it eventually went away after quite a while. Check-in was quick, but felt a bit impersonal, more like a business transaction. Nothing specifically wrong with it. The location is great, just off the Cabrillo Highway (Highway 1), between 92 and Half Moon Bay harbor.

My favorite place to stay in Half Moon Bay. The staff and service are great, breakfast has good options, and it’s easy to get to. It’s pet friendly too. Parking was pretty limited, but we made it work. I’ll keep coming back.

They put us in a handicap room when we arrived and said we’d requested it. We hadn’t. The floors were extremely slippery, and I nearly fell three times. The light switches didn’t work. Even in a wheelchair, getting into the bathroom would mean maneuvering around the door multiple times just to switch on the lights and enter. They called to say the water would be shut off while we were in town for a wedding. We also found bugs in the room, and they won’t help us. I’ll be demanding a full refund.
