Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Hamburg

The front desk gentleman during my stay was fantastic, polite, and courteous. He seemed to go beyond his regular duties and deserves a lot of credit. I wish I could remember his name, but I'm terrible at remembering names. The room's condition and cleanliness weren't great. It looked old and outdated, like it was starting to fall apart, and the furniture seemed heavily used and badly in need of replacement. Building B also didn't feel secure, since anyone could walk in or out through pretty much any entrance.

We stopped overnight near Cabelas on the way to Hershey because we wanted to take a nearby coal mine tour. The hotel was clean and convenient, right off the highway. Breakfast had cereal, bagels, toast, packaged muffins and danishes, and Nutrigrain bars. We were more than satisfied and would stay again. It could use a little updating.

We had a great stay, apart from the alarm clock going off at midnight and costing us a couple of hours of sleep. I mentioned to the front desk woman that the maids should switch off the alarms in every room each night. She didn’t seem very interested.

I was stranded here for several days after a car accident, and the place was disgusting. Room 208 smelled like a smoking factory, the elevator reeked of urine, and the halls had awful odors. Even outside, it smelled like someone had crapped everywhere. NASTY. The lobby furniture was stained and filthy, and the bed was so uncomfortable it squeaked whenever I moved. Shame on the owner for letting the property go without updating it. GROSS.
