Courtyard Hamilton

The location is good, and the hotel seems pretty new, but nothing about it stood out. The chargers built into the room didn’t work, and some outlets were dead too. When I told the front desk, the person asked what he could do about it. I asked him to send someone up, but the whole thing left a bad impression. I don’t know how things were already broken, or if they never worked in the first place. It just felt like an ordinary New Jersey hotel, without much of a friendly atmosphere.

We came for my son’s wedding and the hotel itself was great. The room was clean and modern, and they ran a shuttle to the venue and back. Breakfast at the bistro was another story. At 9, a woman told me they stopped serving at 9:30, so I went to get my daughter and we hurried back to order. Once we sat down, she seemed to change her attitude. I felt rushed while deciding, and she brought the chef over. While we were still talking through the options, she kept asking how I was paying, even though I hadn’t settled on my order yet. I said I felt rushed. The food wasn’t worth the $35: the portions were tiny and disappointing. That service didn’t match the rest of the hotel. I was also the only one she told about the 9:30 closing time. Four other people came in after me, and I watched her interact with them. Not cool.

The view from our room was memorable: we could see the American flag waving outside. The room was spotless and comfortable, and the cleaning staff were friendly and thorough each day. I also liked spending time in the courtyard. It’s nicely kept and a calm place to sit with coffee or relax in the evening. The gym felt brand new, with equipment in great shape, and it was easy to keep up with my workouts. The food had plenty of choices beyond the usual hotel fare, and what I tried was fresh, flavorful, and served with care, whether at breakfast or later in the day. From the attentive staff to the rooms and amenities, I had a comfortable stay at the Courtyard by Marriott that exceeded my expectations. I’d recommend it to people traveling through the area for work or leisure.

I forgot my suit in the closet and didn’t realize until a few days after my stay for a nearby wedding. When I called, they told me they’d found it and kept it for me, so I was able to pick it up that same day. I’m really grateful for the friendly service. The room was also very nice and clean, which says a lot coming from someone who’s fussy about that. I’d recommend staying here if you’re in the area.
