Budget Inn Hamilton

I'm really glad I stopped here for the night. The rooms are lovely and clean, with a nice historic feel, and people are extremely friendly. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, too. Come once and you may find yourself making excuses to come back ❤️❤️

It's an older hotel, but it's been maintained, and the quiet and budget-friendly price are hard to beat. My room was clean, the bed was nice, and the bathroom worked fine. The owner was personable and very nice to me. I'd recommend this quaint little place ✨

We were quoted $75 plus tax over the phone, but my husband paid about $110 when we arrived. The place was disgusting, with spiders, cockroaches, and mouse droppings in the couch beds and cabinets. The blankets, mattresses, and sheets were stained. We asked for a refund. She offered two other rooms, but I wasn't comfortable having my kids sleep in beds with mouse poop. She did refund us, then charged $15 to fold back the single blanket we'd lifted halfway to check the bed's cleanliness. That's all we did.

We won't be staying here again. I reserved by phone, paid then, and told them I had a small dog, but the price went up at check-in and I paid it. When the woman showed me two rooms, she took my Visa into a back room. I asked for it back and she told me not to worry, it was safe. Close to 9 p.m., while we were watching TV, a man knocked and asked my husband for more money for the room, saying we had to pay for the dog. I told him they'd already charged more than the phone reservation price, and said no.
