Colgate Inn

The staff were welcoming, professional, and extremely helpful, and our beautiful room was comfortable and immaculate. This historic inn is right in the heart of Hamilton, NY, a perfect spot for our visit to Colgate. We had dinner at the restaurant, with a varied menu and delicious appetizers and mains. The kids enjoyed sharing a skillet cookie sundae, and the cocktails were nice too. Highly recommend.

Emily helped us book the private Red Room for my daughter's birthday dinner and arranged a special mocktail for our group. Our server Kali took great care of us and made it a special evening. We had a wonderful weekend stay at the Colgate. The location can't be beat, and the room was clean, spacious, and comfortable.

Downtown Hamilton has everything you'd want in a charming small town, surrounded by beautiful forested countryside. I've stayed here several times while visiting Colgate University, and it's become one of my favorite hotels. The building is lovely, the rooms feel quietly luxurious, and the staff are kind and helpful. The Tavern is cozy and convenient, too.

Dennis, who may have been a manager, checked us in and gave us a quick tour of the layout. He also seemed to know the area well, which was handy. Seeing the inn's bar and restaurant when we arrived on Friday made checking in feel more comfortable. I can be nervous about staying in large older inns since the experience can be mixed these days, but we had a wonderful stay and may come back this winter. A pool or hot tub would make the inn perfect. Hopefully some funding can be found for one. Appreciate the stay!
