Unit 306 is a third-floor walk-up with no elevator, so there are no accommodations for disabled guests. It was advertised as a one-bedroom with a queen bed, but it was actually a studio with a double bed. The room was worn and very dated, like stepping back to the 1970s. A ceiling pot light had no bulb, the patio screen had a huge hole, and part of the mini blinds was missing. There was also a nail sticking up from the transition strip between the room and bathroom. The bed blocks most of the way to the balcony, leaving barely enough space to get through. You can only see the TV from the bed, not the couch.

The location was good, but the service wasn’t. We booked for three adults, yet there was a quilt for only one bed, which sleeps two. The sofa was just a sofa with no quilt, so how was the third person supposed to sleep? The Wi-Fi was terrible, and we had to go to a first- or second-floor corridor to get online. We didn’t see any hotel staff for two days.

We almost didn’t get away for our anniversary after our Boston plans changed because of the bombings, but Jonathan's on the Ocean Front had a beach room open at the last minute. The woman who handled our booking was wonderful, and called back about an hour later with ideas for the evening. She suggested a show at Blue Ocean Music Hall in Salisbury and a few nearby restaurants, so we booked the sold-out show just in time and had a really good dinner. Our third-floor room had its own balcony and a beautiful view. The next morning, they told us we could take our time since no one was arriving after us. It was our first night away from our son in over a year, and we had such a good time. We’ll be back, and I’d recommend Jonathan's on the Ocean Front to anyone.

The beach is quieter and less crowded at this north end, though it’s about a 12-minute walk to the center of Main Street. Louise, Adam, Marta, and the rest of the staff made everything easy from arrival through checkout and clearly wanted us to enjoy our stay. We also took their advice and walked to Little Jack's for dinner. Highly recommend it.

The room had lovely views of the beach and strip, and was cozy and spotless. Louise, Denise and Toni were all so kind, friendly and helpful. My friend Patti and I had a wonderful stay at Jonathan's from August 1 to August 4, 2014. We’re already looking forward to going back, and I’d choose it over anywhere else in the area.
