The Magnolia House Inn

Joyce and Lankford have such a warm way of making guests feel welcome. I loved their company and conversation during my second visit to Magnolia House, and their delicious breakfasts each morning left me feeling very spoiled and well fed. It’s a comfortable, relaxing historic home, and I’ll definitely return. I’d recommend the inn to anyone visiting the Hampton area.

Breakfast was the highlight for me. Mr. Lankford and Ms. Joyce made scrambled eggs, a soft homemade blueberry muffin, bacon and a fruit cup, with tea or coffee to choose from. I ate more than I usually do, and enjoyed chatting with them and another couple who’d stayed there before. The room was spacious, very clean, and had its own TV, bathroom and mini fridge. The house is over 100 years old, and the hosts took time to restore it. Downstairs there’s a large open area with a sitting room, dining room and wedding chapel; both hosts can officiate weddings. They also make cookies and treats, packaged with the Magnolia House logo, and have them ready at check-in. There’s plenty of street parking, and the neighborhood felt safe. Mr. Lankford and Ms. Joyce were gracious, personable hosts. I’d highly recommend this bed and breakfast.

The couple running the inn were wonderful, and the house had been remodeled beautifully. We had homemade breakfast every morning, and they even brought us some incredibly tasty cheesecake for a special occasion. It made the trip memorable.

We walked in at all hours and it still felt like a home away from home. Joyce and Lankford were a pleasure to talk with and very friendly hosts. My wife Cathy and I spent a long weekend in early May in the Haven suite. The period decor felt comfortable and relaxing, breakfast in the dining room was incredible, and the security practices were good. When we’re in Hampton, we’ll stay here again.
