The location was convenient, not far from downtown, and the home had a nice kitchen, master bedroom, and living room. The two upstairs bedrooms are reached by a very steep, narrow spiral staircase, which was difficult for us at 70. We also had to strip the beds and carry the sheets and towels down to the washer and dryer area. There was quite a bit needing attention: a receptacle hung out of the wall, trim needed paint and repair, and there were holes in the walls and a large hole in the living room ceiling. The parking area was overgrown, with weeds along the fence and in a raised flower bed. The kitchen window was so dirty or damaged that it was hard to see through. The TV remotes didn't work, though we weren't there to watch TV.

The unit was nice and seemed clean. It's right on the main street, though a little too far to walk to downtown Harpers Ferry. The kitchen and one bedroom got rather warm without window AC units.

The place has a lot of character, and it's really old, from before the Civil War. But it needs care: paint, furniture, lamps, and appliances could all use attention. For what you get, the price is too high.
