Sonesta Select Kansas City Airport Tiffany Springs

The staff were very friendly, and the location was convenient, but I regret not booking the hotel next door. There was no pool, hot tub, gym, or breakfast because of construction, and none of it had been disclosed on the website or in our confirmation emails. That felt like a bait-and-switch. Our room was mediocre, without basics like cups, an alarm clock, or a coffee maker. It felt like a roadside motel wearing a better-known brand. Sonesta needs to do better. This stay fell far below what I expect from the brand.

It felt like a fancy motel. Construction was all over the hotel, and at $180 a night, everything except the lobby was closed. The employees were friendly, but our toilet wouldn't flush properly and the old 27-inch TV kept cutting in and out. Someone else booked the room for me, so I don't know what other options there were.

The staff made this stay. They went way out of their way to give excellent service, and whoever the GM is deserves credit for putting together one of the best hotel teams I've dealt with. Even with major renovations going on, I had a pleasant stay. The pool has already been shut down permanently to make room for a bigger gym aimed at business travelers. The location has one drawback that's not really the hotel's fault: there aren't enough Lyft, Uber, or DoorDash drivers serving the area, so rides and food delivery cost more than elsewhere in the city. I highly recommend the hotel and think you'll be more than satisfied.

They're remodeling, so keep in mind there's no pool or sauna, and they don't plan to repair them. There's no free breakfast either, though they do set out coffee in the morning. Waffle House and Cracker Barrel are right next door. The airport location is perfect, and an exit or two away you'll find plenty of shops, restaurants, drugstores, grocery stores, and a hospital. It's a nice area with everything you need nearby.
