The road and highway noise was awful, especially in the evening, and I wouldn't come back. We also had our site flood and turn into a muddy mess, then our package went missing with no help sorting it out. Getting assistance from staff was difficult. They couldn't tell us about bus stops or explain why the pool was closed. The price was also way higher than what we'd been told.
The concrete RV pads were level and nice. Our spot by the road still felt private and cozy thanks to the big shrubs and trees, though trucks on that street could be loud. Where you stay matters for getting to Worlds of Fun and Worlds of Ocean. I handled my booking and date changes online, and that part seemed fine until check-in. Faith was especially confused by the simple date moves I'd made, and we had to talk on the phone two or three times before she understood. The pedestal breaker also wouldn't hold a true 50 amps. Luckily I had an extension cord so I could connect to the site next door. Faith called to ask if I wanted to book two sites. No, thanks.
The pads are concrete and the power was clean, with full hookups. Getting in is the rough part: the entrance road is tight and poorly marked, and the pads are narrow with a string of sharp turns to reach them.
We drove over five hours for an overnight stay after enjoying Worlds of Fun. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, and let us check in a little early so we could return to the park before the 6 pm cutoff. I rented cottage 214. We put drinks from the village store in the fridge and only gave the place a quick look. It seemed great, but I should have checked more carefully. After the park closed, traffic meant we didn't get back to the cottage until about 12:25 am. My nephew lay down on the living room futon while I showered and went to bed. Within a couple of minutes I was itching. Around 1:30 or 2 am, I turned on the light and found bedbugs on the pillow. I checked the rest of the bed and found more, then took photos and videos. I checked the bunk beds too and found more under pillows. Nobody had disturbed those beds since we arrived, apart from me flipping the pillow. I went to the check-in building to ask what to do, but there was no overnight staff. With nowhere else to turn, I left at 3 am without having slept, after being awake since before work on Friday. I'd left home at 4 am to pick up my nephew, and we were on the road by about 5:20 am. I returned the keys in the drop box, then later had to sleep in my car for 30 minutes because I was exhausted. The cottage cost $179 and some change. When I finally got home, I called to make sure they'd received the keys and reported the bedbugs. The person on the phone said they'd pass the information and my number to the manager, who would contact me. I just woke up and still haven't heard back. Don't stay there. I wish I could post the pictures and videos here. I don't want anyone getting into those disgusting beds and carrying bugs into their car and home. We didn't have luggage, so I'm hoping that means we didn't bring any home.
We had five people in one of the larger cabins, and it cost less than getting two hotel rooms. It was clean, and the loft was cozy, but the futons were only okay for adults to sleep on. Bring a regular air mattress, not a tall one. They never told us we qualified for early park entry, though the lines luckily weren't very long. I wish there were a park entrance nearby. You have to drive or take the shuttle, but at least both are free with your stay.
