Staybridge Suites Harrisburg Hershey

There are electric vehicle chargers on site, and it's only about a 5-10 minute drive to plenty of restaurants. The hotel is close to the exit, though there's not much nearby. Our king suite was clean and spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the included breakfast was fine. The bathroom could use a few updates, but it was okay.

The location was great and the room was clean, but a huge winged cockroach was right in the middle of the kitchen floor. It showed up just as I was getting ready to check out, and honestly it traumatized me. I also needed toothpaste after forgetting mine. The front desk said they had no complimentary kind and I'd have to pay. They tried to charge $3.50 for a trial size, which seemed unreasonable.

Check-in was awful. I got there at 3:30 pm and was told my room supposedly wasn't ready, so I waited in the adjoining lobby. After 20 minutes I saw other people getting rooms. It took 35 minutes and a long queue before I finally got mine.

James was the standout for me. He was friendly, attentive, and kept the food stocked, the area clean, and the trash taken care of. He deserves a raise and should be running the place. The complimentary breakfast and dinner were a nice extra if you like buffets. Most of the front desk staff were friendly too, except Yasmin, who had an attitude from the moment I walked in. She should humble herself. I was in Harrisburg for a press conference at the capital, my first time there, with a group that chose this hotel. The first night, we had a catered dinner with barbecue brisket, chicken, Mac n cheese, garlic biscuits, coleslaw, baked beans, brownies, and Carmel cake. We put untouched plates of food and desserts in the room fridge. Housekeeping took our food and other things, including drinks, chips, pineapples, and popcorn, down to the front desk, but not the food. I think they ate it. They said it had been thrown away, but why do that when I asked for everything to be taken to the desk? If I didn't want the food, why was it in the fridge? Yasmin then offered hot dogs and beans instead of barbecue brisket.
