Motel 6 Harrisonburg, VA - South

The bathroom was clean, as were the towels and bed, which was comfortable. The tile floors ran throughout, and the mini fridge was a good size. It even refroze my cooler pack, though its freezer compartment wasn’t clean. For a two-star motel it wasn’t bad, but I’ve stayed at better-maintained Motel 6 properties. The sink and shower didn’t drain properly, and the shower curtain looked like it had needed replacing for months. The deadbolt was there but clearly broken. I booked a non-smoking room, but it smelled as though smoking may have happened there before.

I was genuinely blown away by how nice the room was. The quality, convenience, and cleanliness were unreal for a Motel 6, more like a much higher-priced hotel at a Motel 6 rate. It had a fridge, microwave, and smart TV.

The room was filthy and worn out, nothing like the description or photos, and there was no orange decor. An unverified Airbnb host tricked me into booking this place and charged extra. They kept promising help, but wouldn’t take phone calls or communicate with Airbnb Service. For weeks, they sent endless meaningless phrases by text, most likely generated by AI, without resolving anything. It’s disappointing and sad that some people are willing to run a business this way.

There were mites and other bugs, and I couldn’t stay the night. I was bitten all over, and my left eye swelled shut from the bites. Six days later, I’m still suffering. Motel 6 - Harrisonburg management charged me for the night I left, even though the person at the front desk said I wouldn’t be charged.
