DoubleTree by Hilton Hartford Downtown

We could walk to good restaurants and bars for our dates, and the deli across the street was absolutely delicious. The downtown location felt secure, and the hotel parking directions were clear, with a good discount. My partner and I spent Valentine’s Day weekend here and it was just what we’d pictured. The staff were sweet and accommodating, the whole place was very clean, and our two Shiba Inus were comfortable with no issues. The room was small, but fair for a city and what we booked. We didn’t get to try the hotel restaurant, but we’ll come back and give it a try.

We were so glad we booked here for a concert. It’s attached to the Civic Center, which made the location perfect. The lobby looked beautiful and everything was clean. Every staff member we met was professional, kind, and cheerful. They even give you warm, freshly baked cookies! 🍪

Only one of the building’s two elevators was running, which meant delays. I told the front desk twice, but they showed little concern and didn’t seem to try to fix it. The room also let hallway noise in through a noticeable gap between the entry door and the wall. It felt dated, the bed was uncomfortable, and the shower pressure was very poor. The DoubleTree Downtown in Hartford, CT, clearly needs renovation soon. With the hotel’s condition and so little attention to these problems, my stay was disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend it until significant improvements are made.

Ms. Sandra made our stay wonderful. She was warm, friendly, and helpful, exactly the kind of service I appreciate as a Hilton Honors member. We were there Thursday through Saturday, and at checkout she surprised us with delicious chocolate macadamia nut cookies. Such a thoughtful little touch. I’d recommend this location and will definitely return.
