What bothered me most was seeing room 106 being readied for another guest the morning after I reported bed bugs there. I warned housekeeping that they could spread through clothing and luggage, but the front desk said they already knew about the problem. I couldn't understand why the room was being prepared instead of taken out of service for proper treatment. When I tried to explain that the mattress and room needed professional attention, the desk clerk barely responded and kept looking at her tablet. She’s usually nice, so the lack of concern was especially frustrating. They did move me to another room, and I stayed. I’ve visited Hattiesburg, Mississippi, before and usually stayed in room 109 without any problems. It was booked this time, so I got room 106 and found bugs along the bedding. I panicked and reported them right away. I’ve stayed at the Super 8 several times, but I won’t return, and I can’t recommend it until this is properly handled.

During our three-day stay, we had to collect toilet paper and towels from the front desk ourselves. There was no room cleaning or trash pickup, even though we asked the cleaner to return because we were still getting dressed. She didn’t understand English. The room itself was comfortable and very clean.

The bathroom needs attention. The toilet seat looked bad enough that I wouldn’t want anyone having to see it every day. After using it, you need to take a good shower. The rooms weren’t in great shape.

The first room had a cigarette or cigar smell that made it uncomfortable. They moved me after I complained, which I appreciated. The hotel still needs to do a better job with cleaning and controlling odors.

I slept well here, and the hotel was quiet. My room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the Wi-Fi worked well enough for me to catch up on work. Check-in was easy, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast had coffee, cereal, waffles, and pastries, a nice range for starting the day. For a budget stay, I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and service. I’d come back.
