Hyatt Regency Long Island

I've been here three weeks into an 11-week work trip, and this week the incidental charge suddenly jumped compared with the previous two. The front desk had no explanation and didn't seem interested in giving one. Then I found the room in awful shape: holes in the wall, broken items, stains, and gross hairs in the sink and shower. I called the front desk, but they didn't care. I also emailed photos to the managers and got no reply. Maybe this place used to be nice, but it feels terrible now, with management that seems not to care about guests. Really unfortunate.

The staff and servers were so polite and helpful. Special thanks to Eddie, who was respectful, kind, made me laugh, and took time to explain what was available. Breakfast had loads of choices and was actually cooked, unlike at some other hotels. The gym and bar also have a lot of options for different needs. I had my best stay at Hyatt regency in Long Island. I'd recommend it to family and friends, and I'll be back for another visit 😁

I won't stay here again. I was there for an event, and there weren't enough trash cans on the floors. A big bag of garbage sat in the lobby lounge for hours, apparently overnight until around 5 a.m. The blankets were so thin they felt like a throw from 5 Below. They ignored requests completely, and both my 4-year-old and I got food poisoning from breakfast. Check-in is supposed to be at 3 or 4, I think, but we couldn't get into our room until after 6. The elevators were slow, too. For a luxury hotel, I expected much better. I'll stick with the Hampton Inns and Holiday Inns of Long Island.

The room was clean, and that bed was unbelievably comfortable. The hotel itself is huge. The young woman at check-in was so sweet, a real doll. I'd come back for a night or two when I need some peace and quiet, a little rest and relaxation away from home.
