The room itself wasn't too bad, but be sure to look at the additional information before booking. I wouldn't bring children here. The property has potential, but the people running it don't seem to know how to operate a hotel. Check-in sent me to another room to use a kiosk, where a woman on the screen was hard to understand; the process took about 30 minutes. There was no real person to call or anyone on site to help, especially in the evening. Outside, the maintenance man was weed-whacking even though the grass hadn't been cut. The pool photos were misleading: its walls and bottom were brown, it was filled with garden hoses, and one hose was still on the floor. Ping-pong balls and garbage were in the sauna, the balls were dented and broken, and the paddles were scattered in different places. Some pool chairs were broken and had ripped fabric. A large white van with a busted rear window was parked in the far back corner of the lot, so we wouldn't park there. The main doors into the inn weren't locked, meaning anyone could walk in. There's also a big empty room with a Coke machine and a bunch of junk.

We stayed here for a hockey tournament, and the whole thing was a disaster. The sink water came out brown, the pressure was barely there, some families had no heat, and the pool was freezing because its heater wasn't working. Cleanliness was terrible, staff were rarely around to help, and the key cards opened every room in the hotel. The group was given a discounted room block rate, but most families were charged the regular price, $363 for two nights. Considering how nasty the place was, that felt outrageous. I contacted Bill by phone and email about the overcharge. He said he had no paperwork from the former employee who set up the block, so I sent proof of our team's discounted rate. The hockey association rep who arranged it also confirmed the rate with Bill. Two months later, they still haven't refunded us. Avoid this place. It's trash.

We came with a group for a hockey tournament and had a terrible stay. The water from both faucets and showers was dark brown, and the rooms weren't clean. We were horrified to learn that our keys opened every room. Some doors didn't even have deadbolts, so anyone could have entered at any time. The pool wasn't heated as promised, and there were no room supplies like soap or shampoo. Several people in our group were charged more than the agreed group rate, and the manager refused to refund them after the cards had been charged. Stay away from the lumberjack inn.

There were a few things going for the place: the internet was good, and the room was quiet, dark, and clean. The manager did her best and checked another room for heat, but that one was cold too. Our room wasn't ready to rent, even though the property was undergoing remodeling. It was 28F that night and there was no heat. The fixtures had iron stains, there was no exterior lighting, and one table leg was loose. The dark-colored towels might be easier to launder than white ones, but guests may raise an eyebrow. It gave the impression of an amateur fixer-upper being run with as little cash as possible.

Stay somewhere else. The place was covered in dead bugs and garbage, with broken pieces of building material scattered around. The pool water was brown, and there was no staff on site, just a kiosk. The owners should be ashamed to keep a place like this open to the public.
