Western Motel Inn and Suites Hazlehurst

The room had some updates, and the inside looked nice and smelled decent. But there were cockroaches. Keep the lights on while you sleep, and don’t bring anything you wouldn’t be willing to throw away or wash. Paying $93 for a weekday night and then having to launder all my things on a travel day was gross, inconvenient, and not worth the price in today’s economy. Find somewhere else.

The rooms are a good size and have appliances. It’s a nice building, and the pool was mostly clean.

I was too tired to drive the extra 15 miles to Baxley, so when three other drivers were heading here, I decided to give it a try. I’d avoided the place because of the reviews and the awful color of the building, and I’m sorry I judged it from the outside. Mrs. Mena's husband promised a clean, remodeled room, and they delivered with patience, kindness, and real hospitality. Mrs. Mena said I can have the same room whenever I come back, which means a lot. The lobby and the whole hotel were clean and well maintained. They’ve done quite a bit of remodeling and upgrading: fresh carpet, clean comfortable beds, a new mattress in room 109, a clean working fridge and microwave, and a bathroom with fresh paint. I searched with my bright blue light and didn’t find any bugs. It’s also pet free and non-smoking, which matters a lot since I have severe allergies. I’ll keep coming back to rest and relax when I’m in hazelhurst GA. For a 3 star hotel, it exceeded my expectations and gave me a peaceful night’s sleep.

We stopped here on the way to a wedding in Fla, then again on the way back. The beds are really comfortable, the rooms are clean and smell nice, and there’s a full-sized tub and shower. We’re big coffee drinkers, so they let us use a coffee pot in the room, and we brought our own coffee. The a/c gets nice and cold, and the TVs are huge. Everyone we’ve dealt with among the staff and owners has been very nice. We’re picky, and we’d stay here again. Also, check out Village Pizza, it’s great!
