The bed was comfortable and the decor was nice, but this B&B didn’t make our 24th anniversary feel special at all. Our room was very cold, the thermostat was locked, and the fireplace kept ticking on its timer without staying on. There was no tissue paper in the bathroom, and the three-minute shower request felt stingy. The place has potential, but it didn’t feel warm or inviting, and this wasn’t the anniversary I’d hoped for. We’d planned a wine country weekend after one of our favorite B&Bs closed. My first impression on arrival was good, and the laundry area behind the building looked tidy, with clean white towels folded on full racks. But the front door and three others were locked. We waited outside until two women arrived, complaining about how awful and rushed their day had been. They let us in and hurried us to the room without a proper welcome or tour. I had a massage booked for when we arrived, but the woman at the desk wasn’t sure it had been confirmed and didn’t follow up. I didn’t know where to go or whether I should wear the robe from the bathroom, so I went downstairs fully dressed. Then I was told the massage was confirmed and the masseuse was getting ready in the basement. She seemed rushed too, and insisted my husband pay before I’d even had the massage. The room was adequate and the bed somewhat comfortable, but the oil and air were cold, making it hard to relax. I was left covered in oil with no towels to clean up, and had to get dressed that way. I’m used to warm towels during a massage. The masseuse apologized afterward and offered me a bottle of wine to make up for the cold room.

Our wedding weekend at the Grape Leaf Inn was magical, and we’ll always treasure the little moments there. Breakfast on the gorgeous patio the morning of the wedding and time by the pool with our families were highlights. The staff were so kind and accommodating to our group. The groomsmen loved getting ready in the speakeasy, and the Champagne suite was perfect for us. We can’t wait to visit again.

The inn keeper helped us plan our day trips, and the room was fantastic, with a fireplace and beautiful bathroom. Breakfast was delicious and changed each day. We loved our stay and would absolutely recommend it.

Our room felt like a fairytale, with stained glass windows casting colors across the slanted ceiling. The house is beautiful and cozy, and the garden is peaceful, with lots of outdoor seating and blankets. I spent a couple of mornings after breakfast outside with coffee and a book. They showed us around at check-in and offered cookies and wine. The cookies were delicious, though we were rushing off to a winery tasting and skipped the wine tasting there. Breakfast was great, and the 8-10 am hours worked well for me since I don’t usually eat right after waking up. I could fit in a quick hike or swim first.

Breakfast under the trees was a highlight: an omelet with apple, cheese, and thick-cut bacon, plus nectarine muffins, good coffee, and orange juice. Cindy arranged three tastings at Wilson Artisan wineries and sent a thorough list of restaurant suggestions. We also enjoyed the free wine tastings there. We stayed in the charming Chardonnay suite, with neat windows, a very comfortable bed, and a huge bathtub. Tall guests should mind their heads. The B&B is super cute, about an 8-minute walk from the main square. There’s a small lot with five spaces, street parking, and a little pool area with relaxing loungers. Can’t wait to come back next year!
