Ramada by Wyndham Hendersonville

We had some strange interactions and I left feeling like I was on a TV show. Our pull-out couch bed had a broken leg. When I told the front desk woman, she just said to pull the bed out. I explained I’d already done that and the right leg was broken. She said there were no other suites to move us to, though it’s hard to believe the hotel didn’t know about the damage. We had to rush off to a wedding rehearsal Friday evening. When we got back, two women and two men were at the tables by the front desk. One woman was the staff member we’d spoken to earlier. I assume they all worked there, unless the men were partners or boyfriends. We asked for a rollaway cot, and it arrived a few minutes later with a top sheet, blanket, and pillowcase. When I asked for a pillow, she said they didn’t have any. I asked why she’d given me a pillowcase, then asked for a bottom sheet. She said she’d already given me sheets. I pointed out that it was one sheet and we needed a bottom one. She said they had none, so I asked if I could have another of the same sheet to use instead.

This motel is pet-friendly, but charges $20 per dog per night even if you don’t bring a pet. We left our two pets at home with a sitter, expecting the fee to be removed. No luck. At check-in, the clerk said I’d booked online and the rate couldn’t be changed. I told her I was an AARP member and had asked about the discount when I called a few days earlier to ensure we could get a pet-friendly room. The woman on the phone said it would be handled at check-in. The clerk still said I should have added it to an online reservation. I didn’t book online at all, but she wouldn’t change the price. I’m unhappy with the outcome and feel the motel put profit ahead of customer needs. This may be my last stay at Ramada Inn in Hendersonville, NC. We’ve stayed here several times over the past few years. It’s a basic place with nothing fancy. Breakfast includes hot eggs and meat, a waffle maker, cereal, fruit, and yogurt, along with hot coffee and cold orange and apple juice. On our more recent visits, the rooms seemed less clean, and it was hard to understand the front desk clerks when they spoke English.

For an affordable overnight stay, I’d definitely recommend this Ramada by Wyndham. The room was very clean, and the TV had about a gazillion channels. There are lots of restaurants nearby, and an Ingles grocery store is within a mile. The only issue was that there was no conditioner in the shower.

The breakfast buffet didn’t have enough food out. With the parking lot full, they should have put out more than six sausages and six pieces of egg at a time. When I got the desk girl’s attention and asked, she did bring out enough for two people. We stayed September 26-27, 2025. The room was clean, but there was no hot water, only lukewarm water around 100-105°F. The front desk woman said it would be fixed the next morning, but it was still the same. It should have been 120-125°F. I guess they were saving money by keeping the boiler low. Other guests confirmed they didn’t have hot water either.
