The place was spotless, peaceful, and comfortable, and she was kind and helpful. The entrance and street parking are well lit, and I slept like a rock. It's a superb location, easy to walk to the train station, bars, restaurants, and wineries. I'd love to come back.

We loved our two nights in the quaint Cobbler Room. Nancy was kind and accommodating, and we'll stay here again.

We had a fantastic time in Hermann, and the Cobbler Room and Cottage made a great place to stay. Nancy is attentive to details, and the accommodations are always clean and comfortable. On busy weekends, it's especially handy to park once and walk in any direction for food and entertainment, since the place is right in the middle of town. We're already planning another visit. We've never been disappointed!

The best part of staying in either The Cobbler Room or The Cottage is the location. Both are an easy walk from pretty much anything interesting in "downtown" Hermann, and the grounds are pretty, with extra parking behind the property off Holly Hock Alley. We've stayed in both units and enjoyed them. They're similar in size and what they offer, well-equipped but not fancy, with the basics covered, including a coffee pot and coffee. As a caffeine addict, I need that. The host lives right in the building or next door, depending on the unit, and responds quickly. Both times she also worked with us on slightly late check-ins, which we appreciated. She has specific rules, but she's clear about them, and we've never had a problem. There are a few quirks. The Cottage may feel a little more private, though its air conditioner can struggle when it's extremely hot and muggy. The Cobbler Room stays cool even in August. Its bathroom and shower are adequate but very small, so a larger person might have trouble, especially in the shower. On the plus side, the water pressure is great. Both places are old, but in my opinion they've held up well, and that's part of the charm. I saw a review complaining about political signs in the window of the host's private home, but that wouldn't affect whether I did business with someone. It's small-town Missouri, and people can have their views. By the same logic, I wouldn't rent a room in San Francisco and complain about the host's politics there.

Nancy was a welcoming, friendly host who pointed us to several good restaurants. The B&B sits in the middle of Hermann, an easy walk from downtown. Our room was spotless and the bed was comfortable, and breakfast each morning was great. The Oven French Toast was our favorite. Try the Riverfront Walking Tour.
