The staff were genuinely kind and helpful, and the beach and great restaurants and bars are just steps away. I had such a good time exploring the area that I wish I could've stayed longer. The building is older, but its preserved charm is part of what makes it special. Just be ready for street parking. They provide a permit, so read the signs carefully. I'd happily come back, and I've already been telling my friends about it.

Logan and Jay were great hosts, and the location right by the beach was a real plus. The building has a rustic charm, though it's definitely old, and renovations were underway while I was there, so maybe updates are coming. Our room was a little dirty, and there was mold along the showerhead and railing. The walls are also so thin that I could hear everything outside, next door, and above us. For a night or two it works, but it isn't the cleanest or most modern place.

The room had handy things like a stove, fridge, microwave, Keurig, ice, and small bottles of shampoo and body wash. The bed was especially comfortable, with a firm, supportive mattress. There's no air conditioning or ceiling fan, but the strong globe fan helped keep the room comfortable. The building has a sweet, classic beach feel, though it leans more hostel than hotel. People talked outside our room late at night. It didn't bother us, but it might not suit everyone. The Strand location made it easy to enjoy the ocean throughout the day, and the sunrise and sunset views were a highlight. It's an older property with a lot of charm, though a few things need attention: buildup in the tub corners, slow drainage, and TV sound that sometimes cut in and out. When we first arrived, no one was at the front desk. We called the posted number a few times before reaching staff, but once we got through, everything was taken care of and we settled in. We had a pleasant stay.

We booked the large suite and ended up being upgraded to the deluxe suite, which was soooo nice. The hotel has an older building, but the vintage charm is still there, and it seems they've taken care to preserve its character. The beach is about a two minute walk away, with bars and restaurants around a five minute walk away. The staff were friendly, helpful, and knew a lot about both the hotel and the area. It was everything we wanted and more, and we'll definitely come back.

The beach view through the windows was beautiful, and we could watch people playing volleyball from the porch. For the price it was okay, but honestly the location is pretty much the reason to stay here. When we come back to Hermosa, I'd probably try the sea sprite hotel next door. I asked for a first floor room facing the ocean because there are no elevators in this older building and I didn't want to haul my luggage up and down the stairs. Check-in was okay since a staff member was already helping someone else, but the front desk was usually empty. He left his number there, though he didn't always answer or took a long time to respond. He was very sweet. There was blood on the sheets of the living room bed when we arrived. Showering was uncomfortable, and I still felt gross afterward because the curtains kept touching me. If you moved them, the backsplash behind them looked disgusting, like it hadn't been cleaned in a year. There was no air conditioning, and the little fans barely helped unless you sat right in front of them. Getting dropped off or catching an Uber was also a bit difficult because it was hard to get close to the hotel's back entrance.
