TownePlace Suites Marriott Dulles Airport (Newly Renovated)

I only had about 12 hours here before my New Year's Day flight from IAD to New Jersey, but I'd gladly choose this place again if I don't have to catch a flight before 7am. The hotel is close to the airport and has a free shuttle. I arrived after 10pm because my home furnace had broken and I was waiting for a repairman, after two days without heat. It was New Year's Eve and I was alone and stressed, but the cozy welcome, comforting lighting, and helpful check-in directions made me feel at ease. They explained where the breakfast buffet and fitness room were, and how the key gives guests access to the rooms. My second-floor studio suite was spotless. I'm a neat freak and bring cleaning wipes, but they came away with no dust, dirt, or brown marks, even after wiping the floor and communal areas. The toilet was clean under the seat and behind it, the sheets were unstained and soft, and the window sills were clean too. I loved the compact but useful kitchenette and the closets, which were organized to make settling in easier. Everything felt welcoming, safe, warm, and restful. I planned to work out, though the gym was smaller and warmer than I expected and was probably my biggest disappointment. I could still exercise. After showering, I meant to watch TV, but the bed was so comfortable and peaceful I never got up to find the remote. The breakfast buffet was kept neat and organized, and I thanked the woman looking after it. She clearly cared about her work. They made good use of spaces that were smaller than expected.

7NOV.2025 The staff were nice and got the job done, and breakfast had a good selection. Breakfast and WiFi were included. The rooms are large and comfortable, and the upgrades at this location look good. I hope the hotels in Maryland and Springfield, VA are on board too. The property is tucked off the main road right by the highway, so you can hear some traffic during the day. There are several other hotels nearby. There's a pleasant outdoor seating area with padded seats where you can eat. Parking is limited, and the hotel is close to Dulles airport.

I booked three rooms for myself and two coworkers. We ended up working through the night and couldn't get to the hotel before checkout time. The staff weren't understanding and charged us full price for all three rooms, without waiving any fees. I'm an ambassador-level member and Marriott hotels are usually willing to be flexible with me, but this one wasn't. I don't recommend it.

Quiet rooms, easy check-in, and great AC made this a nice little hotel and suite stay. I liked the kitchenette and the work desk, and the tub shower had strong water pressure. Good value and service overall.
