Quality Inn & Suites Victorville - Hesperia

I’m sharing this to alert other travelers about the deposit process at Quality Inn & Suites in Hesperia. At check-in, they required a $100 deposit described as refundable, and staff said it wouldn’t post as a charge. After checkout, though, my card showed a posted charge of $207.91. The hotel receipt I received at checkout showed a total of $107.91, and the receipt later provided by the corporate office also showed $107.91. That leaves a $100 difference between both official receipts and what actually posted to my card. I was told that getting the difference back reportedly means contacting corporate and then disputing it with the card company, a process that can take weeks, sometimes up to 30 days. In my view, a proper security deposit should be a temporary authorization that’s released after checkout if there’s no damage or incidental charge, not a completed charge above the total on the receipts. While I was dealing with this, I also saw another guest complain about a much larger card charge in similar circumstances. That makes me wonder if this is happening to others too. When the card statement is higher than both receipts and getting the difference back requires escalation and a dispute, I have serious concerns about how deposits are handled. If you stay here, watch your card carefully and compare the final posted amount with your receipt.
