American Inn & Suites - High Point NC

The staff made the place feel welcoming, and they were always checking whether I needed anything. My room was clean and neat when I arrived, with plenty of room to move around, despite the photos making it look small. Breakfast had a good range of choices. The area felt safe and wasn’t too noisy, and it’s a reasonable distance from High Point, North Carolina. I had a great stay and would happily recommend it to friends and family.

For the price, what I got felt like a fair deal. I checked in late, and the owner was gracious and pleasant. The room was fine, and I didn’t hear noise from inside or outside. I wasn’t expecting anything fancy, and I’d stay again. Please pass along my compliments to the owner.

We asked for our money back about 35 minutes after checking in, but were told refunds weren’t available. They also said moving to another room would mean no refund and another room charge. The staff were rude and unhelpful, with what felt like excuses and false claims. We wanted to leave because the room and halls smelled awful and the room was filthy. The people next door were loud and acting inappropriately. This was a horrible experience and didn’t feel suitable for children. I wish I could give it a negative rating, and I’d never stay here again.

I felt unsafe the whole time and spent the night worrying whether my car would still be there in the morning. The guest rooms are in a separate building with no staff around, while the office is elsewhere. The place sits behind an abandoned building off a frontage road, and the room looked very dated. The online pictures don’t show what it’s really like. I won’t return or recommend it.
