Rodeway Inn

I was working on a nearby project and stayed first in a two-bed room with my coworker, then later in a single. The rates are among the lowest around, and they allow pets. There's a $100 security deposit, which was credited back without any trouble. I appreciated the front desk calling late at night when someone was near my RV, which I'd picked up and was working on. I confirmed it was me, and that gave me peace of mind. The area was fairly calm, even with the highway nearby. There are two washers and two dryers on site near the front, along with vending machines. The staff were friendly and courteous, the rooms were clean, and I'd definitely recommend the place and stay again.

Getting to Nationwide Arena was easy, about a 15-minute drive from the motel, and it sits right off the 270 loop. We were in Columbus for a concert and would stay here again. The staff were phenomenal and went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed. Our room was spacious and clean, the beds were really comfortable, and the carpets had just been professionally cleaned that morning. On a 92-degree day, the AC was ice cold.

For the price, I got what I expected: somewhere clean and safe to rest and sleep. It was the cheapest place, and I didn't find bedbugs or cockroaches. The carpet wasn't bad, the bathroom was fine, and the bed had clearly been changed. It could have been cleaner, though. I don't mind wall stains, most looked like food or drink, but if that bothers you, you may want to pay more and go elsewhere. The room was quiet and spacious, with a fridge, microwave, loveseat, coffee table, and lots of cable channels, including several HBO options. One thing to know: they don't take cash, and they require a $100 deposit.

When I was arrested on what I felt were trumped-up charges, my room sat just as I'd left it during the nearly two months I was away. I had kept in touch with the hotel, especially the manager, Clark. When I returned, I was shocked and extremely grateful to find my things still there. Not many places would have held them that way. I stayed at this location for over a year. I wasn't able to show my gratitude at the time, and I think about these people often. Maybe the owner will let me work off some storage fees someday. It was a very kind thing to do when I felt like everything was lost. I would have given five stars if we'd ended things better, as I wanted, but thank you to everyone there for putting up with me. I hope things go wonderfully for the owners and staff. Special thanks to Clark for giving me hope while I was incarcerated.
