Super 8 by Wyndham Hillsboro TX

I’ve been here for work for several months and have really liked the facilities, especially the big heated indoor pool and hot tub. The rooms are spacious, with king beds, 42 inch TVs, and great AC. The staff, including the maids, are friendly and accommodating. There are several places to eat within walking distance, so the location is hard to beat. Easily the best affordable hotel in Hillsboro. Highly recommend it, you won’t be disappointed!

I’ve never been treated so rudely at a hotel, and we travel full time, staying in lots of places around the world. At breakfast, my seven-year-old was trying to clean up her cup and plate when the person putting the food away snapped at her not to pour liquid in the trash. There was no sink or sign, so my daughter froze. When I asked where she should put it, the employee sounded put out and pointed to the tray under the juice machine. She said most people use it. I asked if guests were really meant to pour leftover juice into the tray where fresh juice is dispensed, and she just stared at me. I said I was sure that couldn’t be allowed under health code. She mumbled and went to the back. The other employee, who had been at the front desk, came out and asked what happened. I explained, expecting an apology for scaring my daughter with that rudeness. Instead, he repeated that liquid makes a mess in the trash. When I asked where people should put discarded drinks, he also said the juice tray. My head was spinning. To be clear, it’s a tray, not a drain like on a big beverage dispenser. It’s for catching spills, and guests shouldn’t pour leftover drinks there either. But that wasn’t even the main point. I told him the conversation wasn’t going anywhere and that they needed to decide where people are supposed to put liquids. She was rude to my child, then argued as if she were justified. So apparently at the Super 8 in Hillsboro, people are expected to put leftover cereal milk, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, water, and juice in the tray where everyone gets juice and water. The employees involved were Lily (pink hair female.) and Nathan. The rooms were clean-ish, the beds were uncomfortable, and there were no luggage carts. For the hotel itself I’d give it 2.5 stars overall. If there were negative stars for service, this place would take the cake.

We’ve stayed here for several years while visiting family and friends in Hillsboro, and it’s never disappointed us. The hotel is affordable, with clean, comfortable rooms, big TVs, and fast internet. Our kids especially like the large heated indoor pool and hot tub. There’s continental breakfast, and plenty of restaurants nearby.

I spent five months here for work, and they wouldn’t refund the three days I wasn’t going to stay. Make sure you know exactly how long you need the room. There were bugs in my room the whole time, even though I was on the second floor, and they also didn’t give me reward points for my stays. The owners and staff were rude. You can find better places in Hillsboro for the same price or less.
