Hampton Inn Chattanooga/Hixson

As Gold members, we were welcomed and given our complimentary gift. Every staff member was wonderful and went out of their way to help. Our room was spotless, updated, and everything worked properly. The breakfast area was clean, with friendly workers and the usual Hampton offerings. We only stay at Hamptons and would definitely come back to this one.

There are lots of places to eat nearby, and the hotel itself was quiet. I got a room to rest and recover, and found it clean and comfortable. The front desk was great, answering my questions over chat before I arrived. I’m really pleased and could see this becoming my staycation spot.

I stay here for work and have been pleased each time. The rooms are consistently comfortable and clean, and everyone on staff is friendly. Breakfast is nice, and coffee and tea are always available.

The hotel was clean, and the cleaning staff were friendly. I’m not sure who knocked early in the morning pretending to be a cleaner; it could have been someone on spring break. The location is convenient and the staff are good people, but there’s a general sense that things aren’t going well here. I travel for work most days of the month and have stayed in all kinds of Hilton hotels. This Hampton Inn fell well short of the better ones, though I want to be clear that my complaints aren’t about the staff. The elevator was out all weekend. Even with my knee injured, no first-floor room was available, so I had to go up to the third floor. The injury came from strenuous but lovely hikes around Chattanooga the day before, and staff had no way to know when it happened. Housekeeping also came by at 8 a.m. on Sunday, which felt very early while I was getting ready to leave. The laundry machines only take coins, with no way to exchange money by card or charge it to the room. That’s frustrating for a business traveler like me, since I don’t usually carry piles of coins. After my review, the GM responded in a strange way, trying to poke holes in what I’d written and even questioning my knee injury without knowing when it started. It felt passive-aggressive, immature, and disheartening in a city that’s otherwise such a great place to visit. I hate having to lower my rating further, and this reflects only on whoever responded. Let’s do better.
