The Wynne House Inn

Oxford was too expensive for the week we needed, with places running over $350 a night, so we checked nearby and found The Wynne House. It’s beautiful and clean as a whistle, and we had a nice weekend breakfast followed by a light one on Monday. Holly Springs has some lovely areas too. I only wish we’d had time to visit the Ida B Wells Museum, which isn’t open on weekends. It’s close to Oxford, and I’d certainly stay here again if we’re in the area.

Marianne and Andrew served food that was delicious, healthy, and beautifully presented, with the kind of hospitality you’d associate with another era. The furnishings made the stay at the Wynne House feel like a magical trip back to the Old South. We had an amazing weekend there and are already looking forward to coming back.

Our car broke down nearby during a road trip, and the owners graciously found room for us at the very last minute. The house is beautiful, remarkably well preserved, and clean. It made for a wonderful getaway spot.

The historic building was charming, and the bed was very comfortable. We only stayed briefly at the Wynne House. Getting in and out was easy, and the directions were clear. Breakfast was disappointing because there was no liquid creamer. When I asked the hostess, she said there wasn’t any and didn’t suggest where I might find some; I’d have thought she would know. She also wasn’t very personable and seemed eager for us to leave. Even so, we’ve recommended the place to guests traveling that way. Thanks for your response.
