Ocean House Inn & Condos

We stayed in the Big Mermaid, which had a comfortable king bed, two nice chairs, and its own fire pit just outside on a lovely deck. The location was beautiful, with a great view, and it was easy to reach everything around Homer by car. The room was very clean and smelled sanitary when we arrived. The bathroom was small, but had good hot water and pressure. There was also a coffee maker, microwave, and fridge. There’s a shared hot tub, though we didn’t use it, and we saw other guests using it. I’d recommend the place.

The Captains Quarters was spacious, with a super comfortable bed and spectacular views. We stayed two nights at the end of a 14-day Alaska tour. The outdoor amenities looked good, but the rain and chill kept us from trying them. A large family had rented the rest of the property and didn’t keep the noise down, and the thin walls made that worse. There was only a 6" x 6" space heater for heat, so we had to move it between the sleeping area and bathroom when taking a shower.

Ocean House was the favorite stop on our two-week Alaska vacation. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the decor felt just right, and the place was cozy with all the amenities we wanted. We enjoyed beach walks, the hot tub, and evenings around the fire pits. Sandy and everyone I met were friendly, helpful, and accommodating. My family and I would happily stay again. Thank you!

The shared decks still felt private enough to relax, though you could meet other guests if you wanted. We loved ending the day on the deck or in the hot tub, looking across the bay. Room 5 had lots of space, fun decor, and was super clean. Sunny and the staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was great. We’ll definitely return next time we’re in Alaska.
