Sleeping with the sound of waves right outside the window was lovely, and the views were hard to beat. Our family had room 3, the three-bed family suite on the second floor, so keep the stairs in mind when booking and packing. The room was beautifully decorated and well maintained, and the beds were very comfortable. Shawn and Ginny were thoughtful hosts. Their place on the Spit is a real treasure. We just wish we'd planned a day or two more in the area.

The little wall-mounted table by the window made it easy for me to work during part of our trip. With the mountains, beach, and even sea otters drifting by, it was surprisingly stress-free to focus. The ocean was right in front of us, with calm waves at night and incredible sunsets. The shop sits directly on the beach, right on the Homer Spit, and the host was wonderful. It's a comfortable, welcoming place that shows how special Alaska is and how kind the people here are. Absolutely beautiful views. Highly recommend.

The Shack Inn is made up of a few guest rooms upstairs above the Homer Tackle Shop. Shawn and Ginny have made the place feel like a home away from home, and they're amazing hosts. The rooms were clean and really comfortable. This was the stay of a lifetime, and I can't recommend it enough.

The Shack Inn is within walking distance of the best Homer has to offer, and the hosts are gracious. The view from the nicely decorated main living space is spectacular. Open the curtains and it feels like you can see the edge of the world. It's absolutely worth a visit if you're in town.

We were close enough to walk to local shops, dining, and the coast, while still having a peaceful place to relax. The hosts were warm, welcoming, and clearly cared about making our stay memorable. Inside, it was cozy and nicely decorated, with a refined feel. The view from the main living space is stunning, like standing at the edge of the world when you pull back the curtains. Staying at The Shack Inn felt magical, and we'll treasure the experience.
