Daytime walking is easy here, and there are plenty of local dining options and things to do downtown. It’s not a touristy area, which made the stay pleasant. The mountain and city views were lovely, and the local staff were friendly. The hotel is older, but comfortable and clean. My room was dated but spacious and quiet, with comfortable beds. The area feels a little sketchy at night because there are a lot of homeless people, but hotel security was great and I felt safe. I recommend it.

The room was very clean, and having a washer and dryer in it was a great amenity. Just make sure you check out on time or they’ll charge $119, as I learned the hard way. It’s a decent place, but watch for hidden resort fees if booking through an airline. Parking is expensive, though it seems to be that way everywhere.

I’d rate this about 3.5 stars. We were in room 3009 on the 30th floor, and the hallway had a strong old McDonalds smell right after we got off the elevator. Maybe someone was cooking in their room, but it was unpleasant and made the place feel unclean. The smell followed us into our room and was impossible to escape. Management should look into neutralizing the odors in the halls and rooms, but carefully, since cheap air freshener could make it feel like they’re just covering something up. The bedroom felt much cleaner and more comfortable than the rest of the room. The kitchen and living area looked like the early 2000s, with beige carpet, cream floor tiles in the kitchen and bathroom, popcorn ceilings, and a yellow, brown, and tan fabric couch. I can’t say it was infested with germs, but that couch gave me that feeling. Leather would be easier to wipe down, and my wife and I put towels on it before sitting. I’d also get rid of the fabric couches, replace cable with smart TVs so guests could connect their phones or watch Netflix/peacock, and, if that isn’t possible, mount the TV boxes behind the TVs and organize the cords. The boxes and cords all over the wall look tacky.

The staff were extremely nice and accommodating, but the rooms were disgusting. I booked through Delta, where it had an 8.9/10 rating, and I can’t understand how it got above three stars. The lobby is nice and the elevators look like they cost a few million dollars, but the hallways smelled like pee, microwaved fish, or death, and the rooms smelled of cigarettes. Our room was old and nothing like the online pictures. Carpet was stained and coming up at the corners; the couch, chair, walls, sheets, and curtains were stained too, though we couldn’t tell what was on the curtains. There were water and mold stains on the ceiling, rusted sprinklers that looked unchanged, and a gross looking washer and dryer area. After we complained, they moved us to a supposedly newly renovated room, but the only differences were kitchen counter tiles and leather couches. We left right away and booked somewhere else at 11pm. I’ve never left a hotel before, but I wasn’t comfortable letting my feet touch the shower floor or my head touch the pillow. Don’t book here. Spend the same amount on a nicer resort. There are lots about 15 minutes down the road that are much better.

The tower windows gave us a spectacular view, and the location was nice enough. But our room was really poor quality: it smelled like cigarette smoke that had been masked, the AC barely kept up, and the linens were Motel 6 quality. It seems like the room you get may be a bit of a lottery. I wish we’d paid a little more for somewhere nicer. Our friends paid only 50 bucks a night more for a much better resort hotel.
