Sheraton Waikiki Beach Resort

Those two big balconies had incredible views across Waikiki Beach to Diamond Head. Our top-level suite was spacious and comfortable, with a separate bedroom and ensuite bathroom plus a large living and dining area. We had three rooms in total, and service was very good throughout our long family stay last summer. We enjoyed the infinity pool's view toward the beach, and the hotel is right on the beach. There were a couple of bedding issues: the pillows were too soft, there were no pillow protectors, and we noticed one day that the bed had no mattress protector. We told the hotel manager, who addressed it promptly, and we were satisfied with how it was handled. Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay with a great location and beautiful views.

The Penthouse Oceanfront room had a clear, lovely view of Diamond Head, and the recently renovated room was a decent size. We liked the infinity pool and beach access too. The main drawback was being near the elevator hall, since we could hear the elevators running late at night. The hotel sits centrally on Kalakaua Ave, with a Lawson store by the elevator lobby and The Royal Hawaiian Shopping Centre just around the corner for cafes, restaurants, and shops. Everything else on the strip is walkable. One thing to know: group bookings don't get Bonvoy Elite benefits such as late checkout or room upgrades. Otherwise, it was a pleasant stay.

The food Sheraton serves is 10/10, from locally sourced dishes and desserts to the wine and alcohol bars. Rum Fire is delicious, with ocean views, and works well for big groups. The wait staff are always great. Their ballrooms are beautiful and set away from the main lobby, so galas and company events feel intimate. I'd highly recommend it if you need a venue for 200+ people.

The pools were fantastic, with separate spaces for families and adults. The family pool is large and has plenty for kids to explore, including slides and waterfalls. Service around the pool was spot on, with great food and cocktails. You can get from the pool to the main beach in about 30 seconds, and there's also a lovely private beach. Boat trips leave right from the beach, and the high street is easy to reach. The rooms were nice too. All in all, really good.
