Drury Inn & Suites Memphis Southaven

Even with a terrible storm, the hotel booked solid, and staff stuck there looking after everyone while unsure what was happening at their own homes, they kept smiling and went above and beyond. Tamika was especially wonderful and made a horrible day better. They all deserve a raise, or at least a bonus for everything they were dealing with. I stay in hotels at least one or two weekends a month, and this was hands down the best staff I’ve ever encountered. The hotel itself was clean and well kept, with comfortable beds, an awesome hot tub, and an indoor/outdoor pool.

With a large family, we especially appreciated the 5:30 Kickback and hot breakfast. Tinky from breakfast was efficient and so kind. We saw her sit with a single mom’s kids so their mom could get food, and she was polite and had a lovely conversation with our kids too. She went way beyond her duties. Give Tinky a Christmas bonus! The rooms were clean, and our kids had fun at the pool and hot tub. The hotel exceeded all our expectations.

We found another reservation somewhere better and won't come back. The rooms were old and outdated, smelled bad, and had very dirty carpets. The toilet had old poop stains. There was a pool birthday party with 15 or more kids, and kids and adults were eating in the pool. Room 521 was chaos, with 20 kids and noise spilling into the hallway. We were very disappointed and disgusted. At the Kabuki restaurant next door, people were grinding on each other in the parking lot because of a DJ inside.

Jay was friendly and helpful at breakfast, and the food was delicious. I really enjoyed Tinky. The front desk, housekeepers, and other staff were all friendly, including Jackie, Danelle, Beverly, and Kimmy. My vehicle was snowed in and covered with ice. A kind man cleared my windshields so I could see, then shoveled snow and ice from behind the vehicle. I was overwhelmed and so grateful someone did that.
