Best Western Maple City Inn

We book here because they bill our company directly, and nobody else in the area will get our business. It's a nice place and easy enough to find, get into, and leave. The bathroom fan was so loud it could've been a jet engine, though, and the ceiling paint in room 120 needs scraping and repainting. Breakfast was pretty good, better than at other places we stay.

The room stayed really quiet even though the hotel was completely full. The train runs right beside the property, though, and that was the only noise I noticed. Front desk staff were nice, and the room was fairly clean except for a few cobwebs. I liked having an air conditioner that could run constantly. The sleep button on the TV remote didn't work, lol. Breakfast was the usual free hotel spread, okay but nothing special. The place could use some updating, but it's not bad at all.

The front desk woman was a huge help, both when sorting out a booking that the website wouldn't let me make for all four days and when we arrived. She found a way to book us for the whole time we needed and explained everything thoroughly. The hotel and rooms were very clean, and it stayed quiet despite being fully booked the whole time. I was here for work for a couple of days and would definitely recommend it. Paddy’s Pub was great for dinner, too.

We were really disappointed by how dirty the room was, even though at first it looked spacious and clean. There was a pill and used earplugs beside the bed, old bedding folded into the pullout couch, used Q-tips behind the couch, and a dirty towel wadded up behind the mattress. The chair cushion had crusty white stuff on both sides, there was toothpaste on the sink cabinet, and the wallpaper was bubbled and coming loose. Both windows were leaking inside, the shower wouldn't drain, and the Wi-Fi signal was so weak we couldn't even try to connect. We could hear the people upstairs walking around loudly enough to bother us, and the ceiling sounded weak. The carbon monoxide detector was up by the ceiling. We stayed for our anniversary, so this was a sheer disappointment. The hotel is beside both train tracks and a fire station, so we woke early to the train and heard sirens through the night. That part didn't bother us, but future guests should know.
