Service was slow, but I’d eat here again. My shrimp scampi was properly cooked and came with a nice mix of rice and vegetables. My husband’s flat iron steak was excellent, and the glaze on it was wonderful.

At least I didn’t have to make dinner, but I’d tell people to stay home, shop at a local store, or pick another restaurant. There were only two tables and four people, yet it took 20 minutes just to get water. The onion ring appetizer tasted good, though of the ten listed on the menu, four were whole and six were tiny pieces. Dinner arrived right after it. My filet and baked potato came with about a tablespoon of steamed mixed vegetables. The meat was worse than what I’ve bought at the local supermarket, and the vegetables seemed to be Birdseye. The salad bar had three dressings and various extras, plus one soup option.

We left and won’t return. A sign said to seat ourselves, but the restaurant was half empty and the tables on the other side were all still covered with dirty dishes. The hostess was rude and told us to wait. While we did, we heard her discussing us with other staff. We chose to take our business elsewhere, since plenty of other places would appreciate it. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking good service. People in the service industry shouldn’t talk badly about customers, and if they do, they should at least make sure the customers can’t hear. Terrible.

We had a lovely, unhurried dinner on the patio, sipping wine and enjoying the beautiful evening. It took 50 minutes for our meals to arrive, but we were happy to wait. The restaurant was clearly short staffed, so a little patience and a good attitude helped. The appetizer came about ten minutes after ordering, though our bottle of wine took a few minutes. For $55, we got the bottle of red, an appetizer, and two tasty filet mignon dishes. A killer experience. The hotel itself has plenty of character. It’s an old, funky place rather than a modern one, and much more interesting than a typical chain. Dan greeted us right away, super friendly and nice. I think he’s the chef or works in the kitchen. Our two beds were huge, and the stay was affordable. You can walk downtown easily, and we’ll stay here next time we’re in the area. There’s no breakfast, but the cafe down the street is great. Melissa was the best when she was working. The staff are great overall.
