Motel 6 Hot Springs

The new owners are working on the mess left by the last owner, and there are a lot of changes underway, so some patience is needed. I found it affordable and very clean. I'd recommend it, and ask people to be kind in their reviews while the improvements continue.

I had to leave without getting the sleep I needed for work after a kissing beetle jumped on my head. That was the final straw after I brought pictures of bugs to the front desk and the man there already knew about them. There was also a hot water problem. My shower started warm, then went cold. In my opinion, the hotel shouldn't be open until these basic necessities are fixed.

The staff were friendly and helpful, but I had an uncomfortable, concerning stay. There were full bags of trash in the hallway the whole time, and housekeeping was poor. My first room had no working heater or smoke detector, and the hot water was barely lukewarm. On the first floor, a leaking ice machine made a slippery mess, and there was standing water at the end of the second-floor hallway. The guest laundry was out of service, and I noticed extension cords being used unsafely around the building.

The refund took several calls to sort out after I got home, even though they had said I could have one when we decided to leave. At check-in, they told me they'd tried to call and cancel because there was no hot water, but the room had already been paid for, so I tried to stay anyway. Their key cards didn't seem to work: they attempted to put me in two rooms, but could only open the doors with the manager's key. They also tried to assign me to the second floor, even though the elevator doesn't work for that floor. Don't stay here. The whole operation is a disaster. At the very least, call to confirm they have hot water before booking. Reviews have complained about this problem for years.
