Quality Inn & Suites Houma

The front desk person was friendly and sent someone to move my cousin, her husband, and my godchild to another room and clean the first one. In their room, which I think was 223, my godchild was attacked by thousands of ants and probably a bedbug too. The AC was leaking onto the floor, and ants were everywhere. The place itself was nice, and we enjoyed our one-night stay, but they need to address room problems like bugs and AC issues. We’ll be back and hope they’ve fixed things. I’d definitely recommend coming here!

The room service was really bad. The AC in my first assigned room didn’t work well, so they moved me, but the bed in the new room wasn’t made. This was at 8:30 pm after a six-hour drive, and I had to get up at 4:30 in the morning. The hotel is awful, and the door lock doesn’t even lock.

The beds were clean and quite comfortable, and the room had cups and clean towels like you’d expect. Staff seemed friendly, too. Still, this is easily one of the worst Choice hotels I’ve stayed at, and I stay with them often. The room was in disarray, with things facing odd directions, including the fridge turned sideways. The coffee machine was covered in a mess, like someone had dumped a bag of coffee into it. There was a huge gap between the door and its jamb, wide enough for my fingers, and light from the hallway came through, so it didn’t feel like my own room. The WiFi barely had a bar and kept disconnecting, making it extremely hard to work. Strange smells hung around the lobby, and there were marks by the elevator. Maybe that’s related to the paint or remodeling mess I had to step around on the way to the rooms. There were no bedside outlets, so I had to unplug the alarm clock and move the nightstand to charge my phone. Better attention to cleaning details and some renovation would do this place a lot of good.

I’d been coming here for work trips for several years, but my last stay ended that. I got over 30 bedbug bites across several days, and the staff didn’t seem to think it was a big deal. I left early, and the manager refused to offer any kind of refund. I was a regular returning customer, or at least I was. With the bedbugs and the response, I’m done with this place.
