I booked by mistake through Expedia and found out cancelling would cost more than $200. I explained the circumstances to the hotel, but they said Expedia had to handle it. Expedia opened a ticket, understood the situation and said it would approve a refund without a fee. But after contacting the property, they told Expedia no and sent me back to the hotel. I called several times, asked for the manager, explained what had happened and left my number. I never got a response, and it felt like I was being avoided. After waiting weeks and hoping to reach someone willing to help, I finally cancelled online and paid over $200. It's sad for a hotel that describes itself as warm and welcoming to treat a customer this coldly. Post note: I appreciate George taking the time to reply, but we never spoke by phone. I spoke with Expedia and a hotel desk employee, who said they'd pass my messages and number to the manager. No one called me back.

The room has a kitchen and is well equipped, though it was missing a knife. The bed and bedding were really comfortable, and the service was very friendly. There's a $50 pet fee per stay and plenty of car parks around. It's hard to judge the rooms from the exterior, but the hotel is central, close to the train station, downtown loop and House of Blues. We also found Palm a block away, with pasta to die for. I really recommend this place.

The Athens Hotel felt charming and cozy, almost like home. It's conveniently close to everything we needed, and the staff made us feel welcome and shared great suggestions for things to do nearby. We had a wonderful stay, and I highly recommend it.

This was a cozy stay, with a great staff who were hands-on and lots of good food nearby within walking distance. The small kitchenette is handy, but you may need to bring or buy a few things to make full use of it. I loved having a full fridge and microwave for leftovers. It's a simple, comfortable little place. If you're after a shiny, corporate-style hotel, this may not be the one, but it suited me well.
