The bed was okay, one of the better parts of the stay, and the hotel looks appealing from outside. Inside, though, the rooms aren’t very functional. The shower leaked all over the floor, which could damage the property and create a slipping risk when you get out. The sink water barely dribbled from the faucet, and the bathroom exhaust fan was super loud and annoying. I tried to upload a video of it but couldn’t. We paid over $100, even though the online price currently says $69. That feels like bait and switch, as others have said. The staff also keep their family and little kids in the lobby, running around, which isn’t professional. As others have mentioned, it’s in a bad part of Houston, so be careful when staying there.

My wife and I have come here for special occasions for a few years, but this last stay was the worst. The beds are wildly uncomfortable. I had to connect the cold water to the sink and hook up the cable myself. The rainfall showerhead sprayed in a hundred directions, the door wouldn’t stay shut, and the controls were coming off the wall. There used to be a nice awning over the lobby. It’s gone now, and the old mounting spots are still visible, making it look like it fell off. It seems clear from several experiences that the property has changed hands, and the new owners don’t seem to care whether it falls apart. As far as I know, all the rooms have an oversized shower that fits more than two people, with an observation window facing the bed. I think we all know what kind of hotel this is supposed to be for.

There always seemed to be drug dealing and police around the area, so be careful. The woman at the front desk was really rude, with crying babies running around the lobby. We were trying to check in after driving over an hour, and she acted like she didn’t want us there. Bring back that one nice guy. Update: she called my number, even though I never said she could, and started yelling at me.

There’s lots of food and shopping within walking distance, and the location is great. The front desk staff were welcoming. Our junior suite was roomy, clean, and cozy, with plenty of pillows and towels. I’d definitely stay here again.

The bathroom was clean and had enough towels for our stay, but the room smelled like smoke even though it was non-smoking. It also looked poorly maintained, and I’m pretty sure there were bugs on the beds. The metal security hinges on the front door were loose, so if someone opened the door with a key card, there was nothing extra to stop them coming in. I paid $90 for a one-bedroom, more than the price online. I stayed here when it first opened and it was newer then. They’ve been slacking on upkeep.
