Comfort Suites Houston I-45 North

The pool was small but well cared for, the gym was great, and breakfast tasted good. They also put fresh baked cookies in the lobby every couple of days. Our room was clean, and the housekeeper for room 108 was so nice. The whole staff was fantastic, and I was sad to leave. Honestly, I have nothing bad to say.

For the price and its location near the city center, this was a great hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms had plenty of room to relax, and the fenced parking lot was reassuring. The walls are thin, so hallway doors slamming and traffic from the nearby highways carried into the room. The lighting was also weak, which would make working after dark difficult. Still, it was clean and reasonably priced.

We’d stay here again. It’s set back from the Interstate, so it was quiet, and there seemed to be security on site in the evenings. There aren’t any restaurants within walking distance, though. The bed was very comfortable, with lots of pillows, and the room layout worked well. We could watch the TV from either the couch or bed, and the L-shaped couch was great for stretching out. The bathroom was roomy, but the floor had what looked like ashes on it. There were no towel racks, so with us declining service, we had nowhere to hang wet towels. We also missed having a grab handle by the tub. It was very slippery and there was no rubber mat. The manager holds a beer, wine, and snack reception Monday through Wednesday from 5 to 7 pm. We couldn’t join in since we’re truckers and don’t drink, but it was a nice touch. We stay in hotels more than 100 nights a year, so we’ve gotten used to certain amenities.

I was there for six days during my birthday week, and it was one of my most comfortable hotel stays in a long time. The bed and pillows were soft, the cable channels were all available, and housekeeping did a fantastic job keeping my room clean. The hotel was quiet and clean every day, and my vehicle felt safe there. The women at the front desk were always smiling and helpful across all shifts. The young woman on nights was especially great when I needed help printing my boarding pass. I’ll definitely stay here again when I return to Houston. Brava, ladies, great job!
