I contacted Booking.com after the front desk said they couldn't refund me because I'd booked through a third party. Booking.com later said it couldn't process a refund because the hotel claimed I had stayed there, which wasn't true. I had booked two rooms through Booking.com and, as soon as I arrived, saw that the property didn't match the online photos. Both rooms were in unacceptable, extremely unsanitary condition, far below reasonable cleanliness standards. I promptly explained the problems to the front desk attendant and gave them photos. The whole experience was deeply disappointing. The hotel's condition had been misrepresented, and I made every reasonable effort to resolve things promptly and professionally.

We came with family recently, after staying once before the management changed. The place was okay for a couple of days, and the room was comfortable enough. The breakfast was nice as a morning meal, though in my experience it did cause a bit of diarrhea. Service seemed alright. Hot water was the real problem. If that's what you need, this place isn't it. You'd be lucky to get even a little from the faucet. We complained and someone came to check; conveniently, hot water was working then. Hours after he left, it was gone again. It was infuriating. I honestly suspect they limit it, which would be whatever if they were truthful about it. Without this issue, my family would probably stay here much more often.

The elevator was out, and we ended up on the third floor because no other rooms were available. The room was so dim I considered calling the desk for bulbs, but the phone was completely broken. The TV didn't work, the tub was filthy and leaking, and cigarette smoke stank through the whole building. I booked this past weekend and had a horrible experience. Ridiculous, wouldn't recommend.

A year ago I stayed one night and things seemed okay. This time I booked a full week, and I'm warning people about safety, cleanliness, and security problems at this hotel. The Harris County Fire Marshal cited the property on October 8, 2025, for a faulty alarm system. It wasn't fixed until October 30, 2025, and a notice about the citation is posted at the front door. That's more than three weeks with an alarm that wasn't working correctly. The Fire Department also missed another major hazard: the emergency exit is used as a regular entrance and never closes properly, day or night. It's left slightly open, so someone outside can pull it and walk into the building without a key. A sign says an alarm will sound if the door opens, but it doesn't, and the door is never secured. That's especially worrying for guests on the first floor or near that side. On October 30, about two weeks after the citation, a contractor finally came after 7 p.m. to repair and test the alarm. Guests weren't told in advance. During the evening, the contractor set it off several times. It was extremely loud in every room, and guests panicked and were confused because nobody explained what was happening. Management gave no notice and didn't apologize or follow up afterward. The whole thing was handled very poorly and showed little regard for guests' comfort or communication. There are German cockroaches all over the place, around the TV, under the microwave, near the internet box, and crawling on the curtains and walls. When the microwave runs, they gather underneath from the heat. There are small ones near the bed too, visible if you look closely at night. The cleanliness is unacceptable. The hotel allows all types of dogs, not just service animals. The first-floor hall reeks of animal pee, feces, and vomit, and many carpeted rooms have visible urine and feces stains. Instead of cleaning or shampooing the carpets properly, they turn the A/C down to 60°F before guests arrive, which temporarily hides the smell. After 24-48 hours in the room, or when you use the heater, the animal waste odor becomes overwhelming. Other ongoing problems: hot water works only in the morning, then stops for the rest of the day and night; the microwave often stops working or loses power; and housekeeping ignores Do Not Disturb signs, knocking over and over and sometimes entering when there's no answer. During this latest visit, old keycards from my previous stay still opened a completely different room I was assigned this time. That's a huge security risk for guests. Homeless people shelter in the stairwell and management does nothing. Front desk staff never go farther than the laundry room, which is attached to the front office behind the elevator. Between the alarm issues, unsecured exit, roaches, filthy carpets, lack of hot water and privacy, this property seems neglected. I truly hope management, the Fire Marshal's office, and county health inspectors take immediate action on these ongoing problems. Until the fire safety, cleanliness, and security concerns are fixed, I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel.
