The room was quiet and comfortable, and had a distinctive boutique feel without being overpriced. Kompose Boutique Hotel Houston CY-FAIR was clean and well maintained throughout, with a modern, stylish look from the moment I walked in. Staff were friendly and welcoming, and check-in was quick and easy. It’s a good place for a business trip or a relaxing staycation. I had a great experience, would stay again, and recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, trendy, comfortable hotel in Houston.

The hallways often had trash lying around, and the pool and jacuzzi area was chaotic. Kids ranging from very young to teenagers went between the pool and jacuzzi with little to no supervision, so it was hard for other guests to relax. Both TVs, in the bedroom and living area, were out the whole time, and the elevators were constantly out of order. There was an unpleasant smell in the hallways and rooms. I had to ask for fresh sheets and blankets for the main bed because the originals clearly hadn’t been changed. The bed was made neatly, but the bedding smelled strongly of body odor, and I saw stains that looked used when I pulled the sheets back. I forgot to take photos before changing the bedding. On the way there, I called the property three times and each time someone answered and immediately hung up. When I brought it up at the front desk, the employee just said, “I’m the only one here and I don’t do that.” This was my second stay in the past month, and it was significantly worse than the first. The cleanliness, maintenance problems, and lack of professionalism made it very disappointing.

The room was decent, and the common areas look beautiful in photos. The hotel’s design is attractive and gives an “Instagram-worthy” first impression, but during my stay it didn’t deliver the functionality, hospitality, or convenience I expect from a quality hotel. Elevators were either out of service or working intermittently the entire time. It was heartbreaking to see elderly guests walking around trying to find one that worked, only to find none operational. I had to carry all my luggage up several flights of stairs myself. I went downstairs for fresh towels for the next morning after using the ones in my room. They told me, “We don’t provide clean towels unless you bring down your dirty ones.” I’ve stayed at many hotels and never encountered that. It felt inconvenient and unnecessary for paying guests. At the pool, there were no towels available, so I used the towels from my room to avoid having to request replacements later. When I asked the front desk, they did have pool towels put away and asked, “How many do you need?” It felt like towels were being rationed or monitored in a way that made guests uncomfortable. The ice machines weren’t working either. Basic conveniences seemed to mean extra trips to the desk or just weren’t available. Hotel policies and service made things more frustrating. I also learned there was an extremely strict no-refund policy regardless of circumstances. If a refund had been possible, I would absolutely have checked out early and booked somewhere else. I read reviews before booking, and after my own experience I genuinely struggle to understand some of the overwhelmingly positive ones. Maybe others had a different stay, but this was mine. Despite the beautiful design, I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it to anyone wanting a smooth, functional, comfortable hotel experience.

We had two rooms and a very comfortable stay, especially for the price. The hotel and its common areas were extremely clean and spacious. My kids loved the pool, which was a decent size and very well maintained. We’d definitely come back.
