Econo Lodge Inn & Suites East Houston I-10

The price was good for contractors looking for a solid per diem rate, and the staff were great. Housekeeping came daily, and I'd stay again. It may be going through a rebuilding phase, since the computers, public restrooms, and elevators weren't working. The hallway carpets really need shampooing. I can't speak to anything else.

We booked two rooms, and each had its own differences. One had a full-length mirror and the other didn't. Both showers were good, and the water got hot, which was great. I slept on the sofa bed and found it rough; there were no spare blankets, so bring one or ask for one. I found a broken lighter and other trash in the sofa bed, so I assume the couches aren't cleaned regularly, even if the sheets are. My room had a nice microwave and fridge, though the TV remote was a bit broken and using the buttons on the TV worked better. The other room's microwave looked worn. My room smelled clean and new; the other smelled clean too, but also a little like cigarettes and dirty sheets. I'm not sure why.

I was bitten all over by bed bugs and ended up with red marks. I couldn't sleep. When I pulled back the cover, I saw a lot of them. I told the man at the front desk, but he said nobody else had complained about bed bugs and asked if I wanted another room. I said no. Why would I move to a different room? This was the worst stay I've ever had, and I'll never come back. I wish I could give it zero stars.

The room was good and reasonably priced for what I needed. The hotel attendant seemed relaxed and didn't pry.
