Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Sam Houston Tollway

The owner was incredibly rude and unprofessional. We asked for a late checkout and put the Do Not Disturb tag on the door, but when we returned at 11 a.m. we were locked out. They wouldn't give us our belongings unless we paid the late checkout fee. The free breakfast was a joke, there was nothing there. The air smelled moldy and I left feeling sick. This was the worst hotel experience ever. The business must be struggling and desperate for money. Don't waste your money here. I promise you won't be even a little satisfied. If I could give negative stars, I would.

The TV had a big line down the screen, and when I reported it to the front desk, they didn't seem concerned. They said someone would come fix it, but nobody did. I went back in person to complain and ask for a manager, only to hear that one wouldn't be on duty until morning. When I called the next morning, they still said no manager was available. I never got a callback about any of it. I chose this hotel based on the reviews and should've researched more. I arrived around 6 p.m. during what they called “stocking time,” and the family working there seemed focused on restocking rather than helping guests. Check-in took a long time. The floors creaked loudly whenever I walked, and the bed squeaked with every little movement, so it was really uncomfortable. I decided to cut my losses and leave that same night. The whole stay was disappointing, and if I could rate it a zero, I would. It wasn't what I expected from the reviews.

The pool area was nice, and my stay was enjoyable. The room was clean. They had a continental breakfast, but no coffee maker in the room. You can get coffee downstairs anytime.

James at the front desk made the stay so much better. He was welcoming and attentive as soon as I arrived, and went out of his way to help. I had an outstanding experience at Days Inn and can't recommend it enough. Thanks, James, for such great customer service!
