Courtyard by Marriott Houston Heights/I-10

I used to send visiting friends and family here because the old staff treated them like family. They were part of our close-knit Houston Heights community, knew everyone by name, and were a real help during the pandemic. When I was renovating my home or between homes, this was my home away from home. The former team was so kind, accommodating, and professional that they made a 3-star hotel feel like a 5-star stay. Now the atmosphere feels cheap and low-budget, which is a letdown in such a beautiful neighborhood. My dealings with the current desk manager, Jasmine Thomas, and another female staff member were uncomfortable. I found their attitudes unprofessional and poorly suited to hospitality. Even though the hotel is only a convenient 6-8 block walk from my home, I’d be very reluctant to have my friends or family stay there now. The hotel no longer feels like it belongs among the Heights businesses or reflects the charm of one of Houston’s most unique neighborhoods. I’m heartbroken by how much it has changed under new management.

Don made check-in quick and easy, and even helped arrange a late checkout when my sister’s meeting schedule changed. He was friendly and accommodating throughout, and made us feel welcome. The hotel itself was very comfortable. We’ll come back because of him, and I hope everyone gets to meet Don.

The place was clean, and the parking garage felt safe. I liked being right by I-10, with downtown close enough to reach by ride. The Heights also has a fun mix of restaurants and places to go out.

The little bar is a nice spot for a drink or two, and the front desk staff have been really accommodating and kind on both of my recent stays. When I need a quick place to stay in this area, this is my go-to.
