Extended Stay InTown Suites Houston TX - Greenspoint

It’s an old hotel, but for someone looking to save money in a bad situation, it can work. I’ve stayed at different motels and honestly prefer this one. I got their cheapest traditional room for under $200 a week, which may be the lowest price in Houston. Mine is small and old but fine for one person, on the third floor near the stairs and elevator. The room is overall clean, with wooden floors instead of the dirty carpet you get in other motels. The mattress is clean, and at least in my room there are no bedbugs. There are cockroaches, though. I’ve seen them under the sink, on the table, and on the ceiling. I can handle them by tossing them in the toilet and flushing. The shower is slower, but works great and has hot water. The old AC works fine for both cold and heat. One stove burner works and the other doesn’t. The deep fridge works, but the regular fridge doesn’t seem to, though I eat outside so it’s okay for me. The Wi-Fi is fast, over 100+ mbps. You can hear some freeway noise and birds in the morning, but there’s no drama or loud people on the premises. Everyone seems to mind their own business. Parking seems okay, with no vandalism. It’s not luxury, but you can’t beat the price. If you need a place to crash and take a slower, it can work for you. Overall, five stars.

The price is fair for the location. It’s pretty quiet, the outside is clean, and tenants mind their own business. Trash is taken out on a fair schedule, and maintenance staff interact and do their best under the “policy.” I’d encourage the owner to listen to tenants. I was scheduled to stay a week while waiting for my home to be ready, but I’m now looking to leave early because the room inside is so unclean. I arrived at 11 am to check in and was told to return in an hour for cleaning. When I came back and got the key, the floor still hadn’t been swept properly. There was an odor of rodents and possible smoke, and rodents seem to come from every angle. I’m afraid to eat in the room. The curtains have stains and holes, with no sign of urgency to wash or replace them. It’s filthy inside and concerning for people’s health. The owner and management company need to address it. The room seems infested with roaches.

Intown Suites took two payments of $34.13 from my account on January 8th for two reservations, even though I had cancelled. I booked on January 5th for a week starting January 9th, then cancelled on January 7th. That same January 8th, I went to the Greenspoint location and spoke with the GM, Mr. Ronald. He said there was nothing he could do and gave me an 800# to call. I called and spoke with a young lady who filed three different refund claims between January 8th and February 18th. I’ve also spoken with Mr. Ronald during that time, but still have no refund. This transaction is UNACCEPTABLE, both as treatment of me as a customer and as an Army War Veteran.

Nearly two weeks went by before the cleaning lady came, and when she finally did, she brought stained sheets. There are bugs everywhere, and the walls are so thin you can literally hear the neighbors’ TV through them. Paying almost 400 a week is low-key absurd. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend this place at all.
