I’ve lived here for almost six years, and the maintenance crew has helped me for years. Especially Jorge and Carlos, I want to thank them. They deserve a raise and a bonus, and I hope they get them.

I’ve had a severe roach problem in my unit ever since I moved in this past August. I keep my apartment clean, take out the trash daily since I live next to the trash chute, leave no dishes in the sink, and even switched to disposable dishware. Still, the infestation continues, and now I’m finding roaches inside the refrigerator. I’m not responsible for this, and it seems like a larger building issue. Pest control has done very little, without results, and management has barely responded despite my repeated reports and follow-ups. I’ve had to rehome my cat temporarily for safety and stay somewhere else because I can’t live in these conditions. The apartment has become uninhabitable, yet I’m still being charged full rent. This is a health and habitability concern, beyond poor service. I’ll be filing formal complaints with the local health department and pursuing available remedies under tenant protection laws. I’ve met my responsibilities as a tenant, and management hasn’t met theirs. Prospective tenants should think carefully about how ongoing health and safety issues are handled before signing a lease.

I paid the application fee and submitted an application after touring the community, but then heard nothing for weeks. I received no approval or denial, lease documents, or follow-up, even though they were supposed to contact me within seven business days. Assuming I wasn’t approved, I had to rush to find another unit and plan my move. Then, on the expected move-in day, they suddenly asked if I was moving in. That was the first contact I’d had. They said there had been an internal “error” and my application had somehow been lost. I had earlier returned to see the exact unit I applied for because the first tour hadn’t shown that floor plan. I only wanted to measure and decide what furniture to bring. Today, they used that visit to say to me and Gustavo that I was “indecisive,” and claimed that was why they hadn’t sent approval or lease documents and had ghosted me. Looking at the unit I applied for doesn’t justify having no communication. By their logic, they can ignore an applicant who paid the fee if they merely think that person is indecisive. When I went in person to ask for my application fee back because of their internal error, they said policy didn’t allow it. I understand policies exist, but they wouldn’t take responsibility and instead blamed me for the silence. It’s concerning that they can lose an application, go quiet for weeks, then redirect responsibility to the applicant. They had no right to leave me uninformed or call me “indecisive” for revisiting the unit. I didn’t receive the service promised in the application agreement after paying the required fee, and blaming me for that was deeply unprofessional.

I’ve been at Sync for just a month, and so far things are going well. It’s a very clean place, pretty noise friendly, and the staff are really nice. I can’t complain much.
