Great Value Inn

The receptionist Brian is why I was able to save money on a nonrefundable booking, and why I'm writing this review. The hotel was good overall, but it needs improvements. When I was there, the elevators weren't working, which is really concerning for anyone disabled who can't use the stairs. There was no hot water in either the bathroom sink or shower. Cooking also means forfeiting your incidental deposit. The TV picture was just okay, most channels were in Spanish, and it definitely wasn't a flat screen.

This was by far the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, and I'd never recommend it to anyone. The rooms were filthy, the floorboards were rotted, and the closets had no doorknobs. There's no breakfast, no phones in the rooms, no washer or dryers, and the Wi-Fi is unreliable and has low security. Don't be fooled by the outside. I stayed for five days before being told I'd have to pay a $150.00 deposit for my service dog. We called ahead and were told service dogs were welcome. I refused the deposit after those five days, and they told me to leave. We had already paid for another day, but they refused to refund us. I didn't want to give even one star, but had to in order to leave a written report. Do not come here.

For a quick stop while passing through town, this works if you just need a bed. The price is great, and the beds are clean and comfortable. The water takes a few seconds to heat up, but for the cost it's worth it. Don't expect anything fancy or USB plugs in the wall. It's a place to spend the night and keep going in the morning. I recommend room 217.

I needed somewhere to sober up after a few drinks, and a man who said he worked at the hotel approached me with an offer. He said he'd already booked a room and I could avoid the deposit by paying him $48. I accepted, but the whole thing turned out to be a scam. A woman sitting outside also offered me illegal substances. I spent most of the night in the lobby until police were called. The manager, an older overnight man with a belly, eventually let me buy a room once I got the money through Cash App. I'd already paid the man who claimed to work there $44. Despite the scam, he wasn't kicked out and stayed at the same hotel. Once everything was sorted, the stay itself was okay. Only use this hotel if you need somewhere to sober up or want a cheap night of thrills meeting a side piece or “Sancho.”
