The water pipe leak was an unfortunate disruption, and I felt bad seeing how exhausted the staff were while they tried to turn things around and help disgruntled guests. It wasn’t the hotel’s fault, and they worked hard to make the rest of our stay pleasant. Afterwards, they comped us for the inconvenience, and the Director of Sales contacted me directly. I appreciate how they handled it, and it says a lot about their business ethics. We were there for the FIRST World's Championship with our robotics team. Staff were accommodating, even opening breakfast early for our very early competition schedule. The rooms were spacious, and the beds comfortable. We’ve stayed at other Houston hotels for past competitions, and this one has been the most accommodating, with friendly staff and comfortable, affordable, roomy rooms. We’d pick The Home2 Suites By Hilton - Houston Energy Corridor, TX again. If the leak hadn’t happened, I’m sure guests would have found the service and cleanliness stellar too.

The rooms are great, and the staff are too. Stephanie made sure we had a room with working Ethernet, and checked that it worked before we arrived because we needed it for our work on the trip. Also, a lovely woman at the desk at 2 a.m. held our room while we dealt with a flat tire miles away on the roadside. The hallways feel a little narrow, and the bathroom pocket door is hard to slide. Still, are those really big problems?

We've stayed at Home2 properties regularly and have usually had good experiences, but this location was the dirtiest one we’ve ever used. The shower door was so rusty and caked up that it took two people to open it. In the lobby and dining area, floors had grime in the corners and crevices. The breakfast area was poorly stocked and not kept up, and there was tape on the water dispenser. Gross. This was also the most expensive option in the area. Maybe being in the Energy Corridor makes corporate think people will come regardless, but management didn’t seem to care about basic cleanliness and upkeep.

The room was just right, the bed really comfortable, and the shower worked great. The AC got super cold and breakfast was great too. We’ll stay here whenever we’re in Houston. Nice work, everyone, keep it up!
