Hotel ICON Autograph Collection by Marriott

The hotel had a fun Halloween setup when I visited, with cobwebs, blood spatter, handprints, and a skeleton at the front desk. It felt straight out of American Horror Story. The place has a vintage look and a great bar right in the center, where a very friendly bartender made some really good drinks. I also got a complimentary shuttle to my conference. My room was great, especially the huge bathroom with both a shower and a bath. Customer service was exemplary, and I’ll definitely come back.

It really feels like a getaway. The staff are friendly, the valet service is wonderful, and the bar is great. One of my favorite hotels in Houston. The rooms are gorgeous, clean, and decorated with a lot of care. I just wish there were a spa.

Julia from housekeeping at Hotel ICON did a fantastic job. The room was spotless, neatly arranged, and clearly looked after with care every day. She was professional and attentive to all the details, and it showed that she takes pride in her work and cares about the guest experience. She went beyond what I expected from housekeeping. Hotel ICON is lucky to have her on the team. People like Julia are why guests come back.

We’ve stayed here three times since my original review, and we absolutely love the place. On our latest visit we got upgraded to the Penthouse Suite, which I highly recommend. The staff are as friendly as ever, and we’d happily stay and recommend it again. Valet is still expensive, but it’s much easier than self-parking. The hotel is gorgeous, with a great atmosphere and loads of historic character. Our room had an old A/C unit that made things feel damp at first, but once it cooled down, the room became much more comfortable. It was spacious, and the beautiful bathroom had elegant tile, a deep soaking tub, and a large stand-up shower. The beds were super comfortable, and even the older elevators fit the vintage feel in a good way.
